Oman aiming for 10% tourism growth in 2012

These recognitions have prompted the government and public sectors to intensify preparations for tourism-related events and developments for the New Year via the formation of a committee to plot the tourism itinerary for 2012. Saudi Arabia is building its first stadium especially designed to allow women who are currently barred from attending soccer matches because of the kingdom's strict public gender segregation to watch games.

Oman targets India to boost tourism numbers

Oman is embarking on a four-city roadshow in India next month in a bid to encourage more Indians to choose the Gulf sultanate as a luxury holiday destination.
Oman Tourism's roadshow will start in Mumbai on February 3 before moving on to Bengalura on the 6th, Chennai the following day and Delhi on February 8.

Total passenger traffic, including transit and transfer passengers, through Muscat International Airport increased by 13 per cent to 6,479,860 passengers for the period ending December 2011, compared to 5,751,516 passengers for the same period of 2010.
